I saw that in your Twitter Feed

Is that in your Twitter Feed?

Frustrated with Twitter’s Algorithm-defined feed? You have the power to change it. You may have noticed how your Twitter feed is filling up with posts by people you do not follow but which people you do follow have liked or commented on. Then you become threaded into commentary you have no interest in. This is part of Twitter’s algorithm-defined feed, which they feel helps boost engagement. Good for Twitter but maybe not so good for you.

Here is how you can control it.

  • Next time you see a post in your news feed that you don’t want to see, simply click on the drop down menu on the top right and select ‘I Don’t Like This Tweet’.
  • The algorithm will take it into account and should remove it from your feed.

On a related note, you can also change your Facebook and LinkedIn feed to only see the most recent feed and avoid the algorithm-curated posts, but you do have to do this more often.
